Tryin' to get to heaven before they close the door
Three times in the past week I've seen blogs that I read regularly go dark because of discovery. It seems to be a fine line people walk for the most part with this anonymity thing. In all three instances it was a case of people being hurt or angered by what they discovered on someones blog. It makes me wonder how people get discovered, is it a computer security thing or does it come from some blog listing which would seem highly unlikely. Unless of course it was listed by location and there were enough clues to capture someones attention. I always feel saddened when I see someone shutting down their blog and their parting comments indicated that they were saddened in doing so. I feel strongly that they will be back in some form or another under some new identity. Of course this is cause for introspection on my part; how would I feel if discovered? Essentially my only concern is my employer (who could give a rats ass) and my family, kids basically, my dad doesn't do computers. But I know others have more restrictive situations, spouses, mates, etc. All I know is it is an addictive phenomenon and I would hate to stop because I'm enjoying myself immensely. It's like six degrees of separation especially since one generally finds another blog through a blog they are currently reading and on and on. Blog on you bloggers and here's to telling it all.
