Weekend Update

I took the kids to a Rennaisance Fair at the park down the street yesterday. The boy thought he would hate it until he saw all the young girls in costume. He was acting all knightly and shit.
The Colts are the last undefeated team in the NFL.
Rich and I watched the Virgin Suicides yesterday morning. A beautifully done yet disturbing movie. I thought it might be a little dark for him but he took it in stride. Hard to imagine a movie about teen suicide being entertaining but that's how well it's done. Eighty teen suicides a day? That's a tragic statistic, as tragic as it gets. Watch your kids please. Is there a sadder lament than "I had no idea"?
When someone dies young you never are able to think of them as older. Saturday was my mother's 76th birthday but I can't imagine her any older than 44. My brother will never be older than 43 to me. The boy and I spent some time reading headstones. Our favorite name was Capitolia Bernice VanLandingham Davis. When I was spending time in Connecticut I'd grab a sandwich for lunch and eat on a bench in a small town cemetary and walk around reading gravestones. Some old graves and some beautiful cemetaries in the east. My all time favorite was in a Key West cemetary. The inscription was "I told you I was sick".
My grand daughters were glowing and magically beautiful yesterday. Princess fairies with dancing eyes and cheeks you had to kiss over and over.
I have a special surprise for you tomorrow. It would behoove you to come visit. I won't disappoint, I promise.
