I've loved this little guy since the first day I saw his image in Moab in 1999
I've wanted a small, somewhat discreet yet meaningful tattoo for several years. I've been thinking about it more recently and last night while reading a book referred to me by a fellow blogger..........it hit me with utmost certainty. I want Kokopelli, the Native American scoundrel, lecher, sower of seeds agrarian and otherwise, symbol of the red earth itself, creator of spring rains and canyon wren calls and seducer of maidens. Perfect. I shall have him forever on my body.......but where? I'm not much of an arm tattoo person, certainly not the shoulder as I'm no longer much of a shirt taker offer. Ankle? Maybe even the top of a foot? But soon, soon it shall be done. And in a shade of red of course. Has to be the red of canyon walls.........desert red. Terry Tempest Williams Red.
