Old man take a look at your life

Fred Hale is dead. Fred was the oldest man in the world until he passed on last week just one week short of his 114th birthday. Think about that, 113 years old, and apparently an active gentleman til the end. Traveled to Japan at 95, Germany at 96. Saw his beloved RedSox finally win the World Series, maybe that is what he was holding out for. Amazing considering Fred was born before there was baseball, at least organized baseball. There were no cars. The Civil War had only been over for 25 years, Teddy Roosevelt hadn't been President yet. Fred was 51 years old when we entered WWII. Fred turned 70 years old 43 years ago. I wonder about Fred's reaction to the evolution of women over his lifetime since they couldn't vote when he was born, were all covered up all the time, didn't write sex stuff in blogs or anything like that. He lived to see women come into power and display their minds and bodies and talents and I'd bet money he approved because I think you have to have a good attitude and an open mind to live to be 113. Fred was from Maine so I bet he was an independent cuss too, minded his own business, worked hard his son said. (how many people have a son almost 90?). Anyway, I didn't know you Fred but I thank you for making me feel so young and full of life today. Rest in peace, Fred Hale
