Frocking Priests

This morning I heard the just convicted pedofile priest referred to as "defrocked". Having never heard of a frocked priest I decided to investigate knowing at least one of you would comment "Edge, exactly what is a frocked priest?" Here we go.

Frock Audio pronunciation of "frock" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (frk)
n.
  1. A woman's dress.
  2. A long loose outer garment, as that worn by artists and craftspeople; a smock.
  3. A woolen garment formerly worn by sailors; a jersey.
  4. A robe worn by monks, friars, and other clerics; a habit.

tr.v. frocked, frockĀ·ing, frocks
  1. To clothe in a frock.
  2. To invest with clerical office.
Notice it can be a habit (definition 4). Mounting young boys seems to be habit forming also. I wonder who frocks priests in the first place, is it a ceremony of some sort? A frocking? And is it acceptable to wear a smock (definition 2) to see a priest frocked? I don't believe altar boys get frocked but I could be mistaken about that. Wouldn't a defrocked priest be naked? And what does a priest wear under their frock? Apparently not much.

Nuns broke their habit and it would seem to me if we defrocked all priests and put them in something more casual like Dockers or khakis and a button down shirt there might be less opportunity for frocking.

Just sayin'
