A Crush
I've noticed several posts and comments about crushes lately, both online and off. Nothing feels quite like a crush does it? Sometimes people have unrequited crushes and those feel different than when you know you're getting crushed back. A crush is different than a flirtation. A flirtation is more in your head and a crush is in your stomach. Funny place for it but I do believe it resides there. I've felt it.
I once had a crush that lasted several years on a co worker, younger than I (I know, that surprises me too) and she eventually became my boss. A very smart, very naive woman. She still is both. She knew I had a crush on her and was amused by it, laughed it off but I think she came to count on it and like that it was there. Others would joke about it. She wasn't even my type which may have had something to do with it. I saw her at lunch a couple of weeks ago, first time in two years , and I don't have a crush on her anymore. I didn't tell her that though.
I have a couple of days away from the office to attend a customer supplier conference so I'll be checking in on you in the evening for the next couple of days. Behave, but if you don't I want to hear all about it.
